Learning at Ōpōtiki College: Ngā Akoranga

Ōpōtiki College is focussed on providing a learning environment that is engaging, technology rich and future focussed. We want our tauira to leave College equipped with the necessary qualifications, life skills and personal attributes that will enable them to pursue their aspirations and career pathways. Our world is ever-changing and the opportunities ahead for them are endless.

Ōpōtiki College delivers the New Zealand Curriculum and is an NCEA (National Certificate in Educational Achievement) school. Our courses and programmes offer students multiple pathways; to gain NCEA 1, 2, 3, University entrance and vocational qualifications.

In the Junior School (Year 9 and 10) tauira have the opportunity to experience all the learning areas of the New Zealand Curriculum and then as they move through into the senior school, they begin to specialise and choose courses and programmes that will enable them to pursue quality education pathways.

Curriculum development is overseen by:

Director of Achievement and Pathways: Miss Kayla Cronin

Tumuaki o Maurua: Whaea Terehia Channings

Director of Junior Curriculum:  Ms Vicky Aitken

Director of Assessment and Reporting: Mr Andrew Lau
