Mission Statement
Our mission is to influence New Zealand cuisine with Maori
recipes from the coast and to promote the Maori language nationally and
internationally.
"Kai from the Coast" is a
Young Enterprise
company comprising six Year 12
students from Opotiki College taking part in the Young Enterprise Experience in
2008. For our company this is an extra-curricular opportunity and is run in our
own time after school, weekends and holidays with an additional study period.
Our team
possesses many individual talents and skills and almost the whole team has come
from a Maori background which has helped immensely with our final concept.
We think our product is timely and will be a big hit in the tourism market and also nationally in
NZ because we have a professionally produced recipe book written in both
Te Reo Maori and English. There is no other product on the market with the same
features as "Kai from the Coast" has to offer.
Our book also features stunning photographs of the East Coast area of New Zealand.
